JUNIOR SCHOOL PREP - YEAR 4

"Prep" (pre kindergarten year):

Prep is a popular weekly two day program in which your child will be nurtured and prepared for "Big School". Children are encouraged to develop a positive attitude towards school, an inquiring mind and a love of learning in a controlled environment.

Preparatory school is a highly effective way of preparing your child for the transition into full time school. They get to know the school, the rules and routines and can establish friendships which continue into kindergarten.

Kindy – Year 4:

Junior School lays the initial foundations for an excellent educational programme here at Cedars Christian College. Teachers will use an outcomes based approach to all areas, integrating a Christian perspective. Special consideration is given to student’s independent needs.

These are met through ability grouping, individual programs, and the early intervention program.

The teacher takes an active role in the development of the student by encouraging, directing, motivating and evaluating them. As a ministering individual, the teacher leads by example from their own life. Whilst each student is encouraged to develop at their own rate, the teacher will set meaningful goals and minimum standards for the student to achieve.
